As we prepare for another year of caring for Remmie, we also begin planning for the year ahead. While no two years ever look exactly the same, the care plan below represents our best estimate based on her current needs and the opportunities we’re hoping to pursue.
Projected Annual Care Plan
• Functional Neurology & Specialty Care: $19,200
• New Treatment Opportunities & Medical Programs: $6,000–$8,000
• In-Home Caregiving Support: $20,000
• Incontinence Supplies Not Covered by Insurance: $3,000
• Adaptive Equipment, Sensory Supports & Replacement Items: $1,000–$2,000
• Emergency Medical & Unexpected Expenses: $5,000
Projected Annual Need: Approximately $55,000–$60,000
These expenses represent care that is either not covered or only partially covered by insurance. More importantly, they represent the support that helps Remmie thrive while allowing our family to function well each day.
One thing we’ve learned over the years is that Remmie’s journey is constantly evolving. New opportunities arise, unexpected challenges surface, and sometimes the needs of a given year look very different than what we anticipated. This care plan is simply our best estimate based on what we know today.
One thing we know with confidence is that the Lord has faithfully provided in every season of Remmie’s life. Looking back, it is remarkable to see how often His provision has matched the need, sometimes in ways only He could have orchestrated.
In the spirit of transparency, if support ever exceeds Remmie’s annual care expenses, those funds are placed into a dedicated high-yield savings account established exclusively for her future care. As parents, we know there may come a day when Remmie requires full-time caregiving throughout adulthood. Building that reserve is one of the ways we can faithfully prepare for her future while stewarding the incredible generosity God has provided through this community.
Thank you for continuing to love our family so well. Your prayers, encouragement, generosity, and unwavering support have become part of Remmie’s story, and we will never take any of it for granted.
With grateful hearts,
Grant + Lyndsey
